Gas hobs - 

Gas hobs are probably the most popular type of hob, as they let you easily adjust the heat and use the flames as a visual for how much heat you're putting out. However, they do take a little longer to warm up and cool down than other hobs. 

Induction hobs - 

Induction hobs look very stylish; you can get them in coloured glass or metal, which gives them a modern look. They are also among the cheapest hob styles to run, as they only heat the pots and pans you're using; there's no wasted heat. You'll need to make sure your cookware is induction-compatible, as some models and types aren't. 

Ceramic hobs - 

These are another excellent choice if you're looking for a modern-looking hob! They're also very responsive, easy to clean and quick to heat up. They are very similar to induction hobs; however, you can use any cookware on them. The rings also have a red glow to let you know which is heating up. 

Solid plate hobs - 

If you're looking for a hob that offers simplicity and value for money, then you want a solid plate hob! They take a little bit more work to maintain, but as long as you give it a wipe down after every use, you won't need to deal with any large clean-ups in the long run!
