We have spent a lot of time in the appliance industry, especially cheap laundry appliances, so we've decided to put together a blog which explains some of the most common washing machine problems, along with some simple solutions.

  • Washing machine won't drain!

If your machine is struggling to drain the water after a cycle, it's very likely that a drainage pipe will be blocked. The first thing to do is a general reset by turning the machine on and off. If that doesn't work then we need to look into unclogging the drain. To do that, you need to completely turn the machine off before trying to move it. You then would need to remove the drain pipe from the back of the machine and use an outdoor hose etc to try and push the water through to dislodge anything that may be stuck. If this still doesn't help, it's worth getting a professional to come and take a look.

  • Washer door won't unlock.

Again, the first thing to try is restarting your machine. The master reset should restart the programme. If that doesn't work, why not check the drainage pipe and run a short cycle? Hopefully, your clothes are just be blocking the door and the cycle will dislodge it.

  • The washing machine keeps jumping around.

If your machine can't stop dancing around during a cycle, it's highly possible that your washer is unbalanced. First thing's first, you need to check that the transit bolts have been taken off the back of the washer itself. Then you would need to check the actual level of the washing machine with the use of a spirit level. If the problem persists, you may need to contact your manufacturer as there may be an internal problem.
